The founder of OEMA, his knowledge on all areas “chemical” is undeniable (just don’t get him talking on it). Famous internally for saying “yes,… what’s the question?”. His affliction for saying ‘yes’ against all odds has left us with seemingly impossible tasks or timelines, however, it does serve as a lesson on how to achieve these goals –‘if it can be done it will be done’ is now our motto.

OEMA’s very own Matriarch; her caring nature ensures all OEMA’s needs are met from coffee, to clothing, to sweepstakes, to Christmas decorations. Nic is the happiest member of the team flying in like a tornado, her singing leaves a little bit to be desired though. Knowing no boundaries, she is as happy presenting to the board as crawling through an oil tank.

Our ‘big hitter’ Jason came on board to impart his years of experience, in not only the Marine industry, but business in general. Your all round ‘good guy’ he brings a calming influence on proceedings and core values. Life in the workplace can be dreary without humour and Jason brings his own special brand to the table, as a natural wind-up merchant he keeps all of us on our toes. He’s a little too enthusiastic when it comes to his share of the cakes, but we can forgive him for that!

The Queen of the books, Amanda is our very own ‘hawk eye’. Her ability to spot a missing comma from 30 paces is uncanny! For someone in accounts her mental arithmetic is highly dubious, but “that’s what calculators are for”.

Lora approaches everything with enthusiasm and professionalism but enjoys playing the odd practical joke! She leads the team on our ‘physical shake down’ each day, ensuring we all get our hips moving! She may be small in stature, but she is most definitely big in personality, a delightful member of the team, who is always happy to help others.

Our friendly Technician always has a smile and a hug for everyone. He makes the workplace a happy place to be, often treating us to his vocal chords! Happy to volunteer for global assignments at short notice, but also being a lover of being organised and ticking things off his lists. Mark is most definitely our ‘One and Only Superchlorinator’! Always Health and Safety conscious Mark loves to overuse the horn on the forklift. The most exciting point in the day is his announcement of the arrival of the Fat Van!

As a former Royal Marine Mark approaches all tasks in a no nonsense, quietly assured way. A key member of the team, willing to travel all over the globe at the drop of a hat. A mad Fulham FC fan, he often travels to see them play, and takes the office banter well when they lose, which is often!

Daniel Burton
Dan approaches all tasks with great enthusiasm and is a very jolly member of the team, who gets on swimmingly with everyone. Always happy to help others and get on and ‘do what needs to be done’ he’s happy to dive into all tasks. Not afraid to be thrown in at the deep end, he faces all new challenges and tasks with energy and enthusiasm. A lifelong Bournemouth FC fan, he is used to making the best of any situation!

Rebecca’s infectious enthusiasm has a positive effect on all around her. She is extremely hard working and takes everything thrown at her confidently in her stride. We all fear she may end up in a heap at the bottom of the stairs one day, as she moves at the speed of light! Rebecca is obsessed with sloths and bakes a mean sponge cake, winning our own version of the Great British Bake Off.

Arron is an extremely hardworking and enthusiastic member of the team. His quiet manner achieves greatness from others without intimidation. His technical knowledge and workflow expertise have allowed the laboratory to make huge advances ensuring the future is bright for Oema’s chemistry laboratory. A keen detectorist he is yet to unearth his fortune but has a great deal of fun trying to find the ultimate treasure.

Yasmin is the epitome of the proverbial swan, calm and collected on the surface, yet working exceptionally hard below the surface. Her tiny stature doesn’t stop her from keeping all the Technicians in line and ensuring all off-site work, all over the world is covered and organised. A happy member of the team who has a love for animals, especially dogs and makes great sausage rolls!

Jacob is a jolly, happy member of the team. Overseeing the procurement department, his days are filled with securing and delivering supplies all over the world. His love of cars and vehicles made him a perfect candidate to look after Oema’s fleet of vehicles. He’s also a very good baker, which goes down very well with the whole team!

The ‘Numbers Man’ keeps us all in check and ensures Oema’s financial health is always in tip top condition. Over seeing a significant investment programme that has seen growth across the whole business, especially the laboratories in both Bournemouth and Southampton. A keen open water swimmer and keep fit enthusiast. Annoyingly trim for someone who is always first to the biscuit tin! A very popular member of the team.

A true whirlwind that exudes exceptional knowledge at every opportunity. Always seeking new opportunities and problem solving for customers old and new. Dan also oversees compliance across the company ensuring that all strict UKAS regulations are adhered to. Dan loves to share his extensive knowledge, helping other team members with their career development. Dan also has a wicked sense of humour, especially when it comes to Secret Santa!

Pete’s experience and technical knowledge are simply second to none. With many years’ experience in his chosen field his expertise in all geotechnical testing are a truly invaluable asset to Oema. Designing and manufacturing test equipment, Pete really is at the cutting edge of material testing. A great mentor to his younger members. A lover of a sunny day and holiday Pete makes the most of his well-earned time off with his wife and dog. A big whistler, you’ll always know when Pete is nearby.

Martin is another member of the team based at OCMT in Bournemouth. With more years’ experience than he would probably care to admit, his superior knowledge of all things construction material testing is unrivalled. A great mentor to the rest of the team, the time and dedication he shows are truly admirable. Martin is a animal lover and a keen hiker with his wife in his much deserved down time.

Milad is an extremely hardworking member of the Bournemouth team. He is exceptionally keen to learn all aspects of the construction material world and is an A Grade student. He always has a smile on his face and wants to help others wherever he can. Volunteering and helping others in his time off is what he likes to do the most.

Scott enjoys a challenge and enjoys spending his time traveling across the country out on site sampling for our customers. A keen gardener and even keener golfer, the other Oema golfers are a little jealous of his handicap of 2! Scott enjoys spending time and travelling abroad with his wife.

Toby does the booking in for OEMA’s Hurn laboratory and has a fantastic way of explaining things. He really demonstrates the core OEMA values, and is always happy to help out and get stuck in with tasks, never makes a fuss! He also has a brilliant sense of humour. Outside of work he enjoys sea swimming, spending time with his partner and walking their dogs.

Shayan is an extremely eager member of the chemistry team at Oema who enjoys any challenge put to him. He is very keen to learn all aspects of analysis and applies his chemistry degree to his work. Shayan loves to travel but is a bad influencer on the office when it comes to food.

She also gets to appreciate her love of aviation working at Hurn airport seeing the flights take off and land.
